We are continuing to see amazing success with the building in Cambodia. The new library for Journeys within Our Community will be complete in the next few weeks. The structure is totally up, and the cosmetic work is beginning.

Construction update week 8

As we move into the 8th week of construction of the new library for JWOC – things are really starting to take shape! (Check out the earlier photos here) The local community has come together to work so hard on getting this space ready for the students. We should have a fully functional library in about month….then it’s time to start stocking it with books!

Thanks to all who supported the buy a brick campaign and assisted in funding this great construction project! We are looking forward to seeing the students enjoying their new space!

Exciting new happenings at our site in Cambodia!

Building is underway for the new library which will compliment the JWOC Community Center which was funded by the Collette Foundation in 2009! The  library will drastically enhance the resources that JWOC offers the local community. This library will be a place for people of all ages to come and enjoy learning through books, which they have little or no access to elsewhere in Siem Reap. The new library space will also hold kindergarten classes and other activities for children!

While we have sent funding to Cambodia there is a need for more! So, the Collette Foundation is supporting JWOC’s Buy a Brick Campaign. For a small donation of $25.00 you can buy 1 brick – more if you would like –  and the Collette Foundation will match the funds. All proceeds (as always) will go directly to JWOC. This is a great way to leave your mark on the new library!
