Knysna Educational Trust
The Knysna Educational Trust was formed with the mission to ensure that each child has at least one hot meal daily, and is given proper pre-school care that will allow them to be on par with others upon entering primary school. The Trust aims to protect these children from the burdens of physical and mental abuse, and ultimately HIV by giving them care in a safe and positive environment.
The Trust supports 29 preschools in the Knynsa Township area. With the support of the Collette Foundation and others the Trust is able to educate their preschool teachers, enhance the schools with running water, windows, etc, as well as provide one nutritious meal per day to each child.
The Collette Foundation and Knysna Educational Trust have been partners for 3 years. The Collette Foundation is beginning the renovation of the third preschool in the network.
If you are visiting the Knysna Educational Trust please note that the Collette Foundation does not accept in kind donations. However, if you’d like to bring items directly to Knysna we have some suggestions:
